2 MA Bikers Die in Separate Accidents
August 10, 2009
Two bikers from Massachusetts died last week in unrelated single-vehicle crashes, according to recently published reports.
21-year-old Lucas Haus, from North Reading, Ma was killed in a motorcycle accident while participating in a motorcycle memorial ride for a close friend who had recently died in a motorcycle crash. Haus was riding a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja on Route 95 in Danvers when he lost control of the bike and ran into a group of trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the motorcycle crash.
Later that day, 65-year-old Paul E. West had just achieved a life-long dream of riding his bike to the top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, and was riding back down Auto Road when he lost control of his 1975 Harley-Davidson, fell off of a 10 ft. embankment and also hit a tree. He too was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
According to West’s daughter, “He had made it to the top on his bike and he was able to see that, so I guess if there is any slight consolation, at least he had the chance to experience Mount Washington.”
