Harley Invites Riders to Million Mile Monday

The Harley Owners Group (H.O.G) invites all riders to join them in their quest to cumulatively log millions of riding miles in one day on Monday, June 27h.

The annual H.O.G. event Million Mile Monday was first launched in 2008. It is held on the last Monday of June in an effort to bring together H.O.G. members in a day of riding for no specific purpose other than to celebrate the joy and freedom of the open road on a motorcycle.

Last year’s Million Mile Monday clocked in over 4,000,000 miles, and this year the club hopes to raise the total even higher.

So, whether you have a Harley or not, join in the fun and go out for a ride on June 27th. Every mile counts.

To record your miles, log into the H.O.G.’s online mileage accumulator at www.h-d.com/mmm, where a rolling odometer will record every mile logged by Million Mile Monday participants.

Once your ride is complete, a commemorative certificate of participation can be printed to display your mileage total for the day.

Hundreds of Bikers Honor Marine

Yesterday morning, about 500 motorcycles started their engines for a ride commemorating PFC Eric Currier, 21, a Marine who was killed while serving in Afghanistan on February 17, 2010. The hundreds of bikers started off their ride in memory of Currier from Coyle’s Roadhouse Tavern and continued up to Seabrook, N.H. for the half-day ride. Currier’s father and brother led the pack of bikers on the ride in his honor.

The ride was $20 for each biker to join and raised about $10,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, which is a non-profit advocacy group from Jacksonville, Florida, offering counseling, retreats, and job training for service members who are injured in the line of duty.
