Brockton Rider Seriously Injured in Route 24 Motorcycle Crash

Jordan Lamore, 28, of Brockton suffered serious injuries following a motorcycle accident on Route 24 Wednesday. According to police, Lamore veered into the guardrail in the northbound lanes near Exit 14B at the I-495 interchange shortly before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the Boston Globe reports.

The cause of this accident was not immediately clear and remains under investigation.

Injuries in Motorcycle Accidents
Since riders do not have the added protection a closed 4-wheel motor vehicle can offer, they often sustain traumatic injuries in the event their motorcycle crashes, either with a stationary object or with another moving vehicle.

Often, the injuries are even worse when the rider is not wearing a helmet or motorcycle protective gear.

We urge all motorcyclists to protect themselves with helmets, gear and the safety of alert, lawful riding. Respect the laws of the road, and respect the other people you share the road with.

New Details Released on Pelham Motorcycle Crash

Cody Eller, the 18-year-old Windham teen who was involved in an early morning accident in Pelham that seriously injured a Brentwood motorcyclist last week, was charged with vehicular assault and second-degree assault.

The 4:30 a.m. collision occurred near 455 Windham Road when Eller’s vehicle, a Ford Fusion drove into a Kawasaki ZX1400 motorcycle that was trying to pass it.

Police said Eller admitted that he intentionally steered his car into the motorcyclist, William Hawksley, 45, of Brentwood, in what may be described as a road rage incident.

According to police prosecutor Dennis Mannion, Eller told Pelham officers, “I wasn’t going to let him pass me.”

“Obviously, that are acts of road rage from time to time, but this is the most serious I’ve seen in my career,” said Mannion. He has been in law enforcement for 16 years.

Mannion asked a Derry District Court judge Friday morning to set Eller’s bail at $5,000 cash, which was upheld. Before Friday, Mannion said Eller had no criminal record and only a single speeding ticket from 2010.

WMUR and The Eagle Tribune reported that Hawksley suffered a broken right leg in the accident. According to his wife, he will require surgery. His leg was fractured in several places.

We wish Hawksley a speedy recovery from his injuries.

Road Rage Accidents

This motorcycle accident stemming from a 4:30 a.m. road rage is an example of how a minor incident on the road can escalate to a more serious event which will have long-term effects on the lives of both the driver and the injured motorcyclist.

Obeying traffic laws and not losing your temper are crucial for every driver, but especially for teenagers who are more prone to accidents. Raging hormones are typical for teens, and even little events can spark instantaneous outrage, which unfortunately, in this case led to the teen driver’s wish to push out a motorcyclist off the road, causing his serious injury.

This accident can serve as a reminder to other drivers out there to not lose it and go after motorcyclists, who after all, are not as protected on the road as motor vehicle occupants. On the other hand, we can all remember to obey traffic rules at all times and look out for angry operators on the road.
