The bikers rode about 50 miles along the South Shore, through Marshfield, and ended the ride in Abington at the VFW. There was a BBQ following the ride for the bikers, friends, and family. The event brought in roughly $2,000 total to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Tom Morrison, who is an Army veteran and the senior commander with the VFW Post 5737 in Abington, set up the ride with the help of Navy veteran Brian Martin, who was a previous post commander at the VFW.

• Jimmy Bernardo Memorial Ride: Make your way to North Street in Pittsfield for registration at 9:00am for this ride. There is a $25 fee for each biker. The motorcycles will take off for 11:00am and the ride will end with raffles, live entertainment, and refreshments at the Onota Lake Controy Pavilion. This ride is organized by the Bernardo family in memory of Jimmy, who was killed in 1990 at the age of 12.
• Ride for Why Me Sherrys House: Registration for this ride starts at 9:00am at the Hudson Eagles on Cox Street in Hudson, Massachusetts. The ride will benefit families who have children with cancer and will take off at 11:00am. The fee for each biker is $20. Following the ride, there will be a BBQ

• Blackbeard’s Run for the SSG Matthew Pucino Memorial Foundation Ltd.: This 30 mile ride meets up at Buzzards Bay Park right on Main Street in Buzzards Bay for registration starting at 9:00am. In order to participate in the ride, which takes off at 11:00am, the fee for each rider is $20 and $5 per passenger. After the ride, bikers can enjoy BBQ, live entertainment and raffles
• 2nd Annual Mitchell Campbell Poker Run: Registration for this ride starts at 9:30am at The Lafayette Club on Lakeview Avenue in Taunton. The fee is $20 per bike and the ride will include a few stops through Taunton and Raynham. Live entertainment, games, and food will be offered at the end of the ride and prizes will go to the best and worst poker players
• 3rd Annual Ritzler’s Ride: Get to the West Springfield Fish and Game on Garden Street in Feeding Hills for registration at 11:00am so you can participate in the 12:00pm ride. The fee to join in is $20 per biker. There will be food, raffles, and a bonfire following the ride, which benefits the Ritzler Family Children’s Education Fund

The day also featured several other events, including a raffle, a cookout and live entertainment. Those who attended donated $10 per person to benefit the victims of the deadly tornado. Toys were also donated at the event by the Lions Club for children who had lost their own toys as a result of the tornado.

According to The Republican, approximately 8% of Monson’s buildings suffered damage during the tornado that touched down on June 1. Estimates for the total amount of damages have reached into the millions.

• Middleboro Elks Lodge 1274 1st Annual Scholarship Poker Run: Registration kicks off at 10:00am on High Street in Middleboro with a $15 fee per biker. There will be a cookout following the ride, which benefits the Elks Scholarship
• Lions Eye Research Ride: Get to West Boylston for registration between 8:45-9:45am in the Wachusetts Plaza in time for the 10:00am ride. There is a $20 fee per biker of $35 for a rider and passenger. The ride benefits local Lions clubs and a BBQ will be offered following the end of the ride
• Molly’s Ride for Child Safety: Registration for this ride benefitting The Molly Bish Foundation kicks off on Main Street in Sturbridge between 10:00am-12:00pm, with the ride starting at 12:00pm. The fee to participate is $20 per biker
• Survivor’s Run: This ride benefits the Susan G. Komen 3-day for the Cure foundation and the fee is $25 per biker and $10 per passenger. Registration begins at 9:00am at the American Legion War Memorial Building in Shirley and the ride will head out at 11:00am
• 8th Annual Richard Medeiros Poker Run: Get to Cape Cod Express in Wareham for registration starting at 10:00am and join in on the 11:00am ride. The fee is $20 per person for the ride and a poker hand, or $10 for just the ride. All proceeds go to college scholarships and local charities

Last weekend started off with charity rides and fundraisers, and a ride dubbed “The Ride to the Sky” is scheduled for adventurous bikers to ride up Mount Washington today. There will be a short track race held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway this coming Saturday as well as the Loudon Classic Race that day as well.

This Saturday and Sunday will also host a Toy Run Parade for the Loudon Classic and if bikers bring a toy for charity, they’ll get a discount on the race.
