Go Wild at the Bama Bike Fest Fall Motorcycle Rally
October 13, 2009
If you find yourself in the Deep South this fall, consider riding into Forkland, Alabama, for the Bama Bike Fest Fall Motorcycle Rally, which takes place Oct. 30 to Nov. 1.
A note of warning: Bama Bike Fest is wild–so wild it is held three times a year: in March, July, and August. A peek at the ladies’ contest lineup suggests why: Pickle Sucking, Hot Chaps, Wet T-Shirt, Bikini, and Topless Hula Hoop. This one is for the grown-ups.
Other activities at this biker party include a poker run, bike games, Loudest Pipes, and a bike show. New activities this fall include a pumpkin carving contest, a Halloween costume contest, mechanical bull rides, and biker rodeo games.
The live bands on tap for this motorcycle rally are Sin 69, which plays on Friday night, and Jasmine Cain, which plays both Friday and Saturday night.
Beginning this fall, the Bama Bike Fest is B.Y.O.B. (It seems the organizers have had a dispute with the boys at the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.) The bar will sell soft drinks, mixers, and ice. You will need to bring your own alcohol.
Forkland, Alabama, is about 90 miles southwest of Birmingham.
