Got Track?
November 1, 2009
Nothing is as intimidating as the first day of school. This is certainly true of race school. The first day on the track for an aspiring motorcycle racer is not always a comfortable thing. Even seasoned street racers sometimes get butterflies during their first day on the track.
Gottrack.net provides an excellent resource for first timers to the race track. The Novice Orientation Program is not just a track program; it is an introduction into the race world. As an entry level program, it starts well before anyone gets on a bike and logs a lap.
Sponsored by JenningsGP, this program is designed to make sure those wanting to learn riding techniques are introduced to the track in a relaxed, low pressure manner. From arriving to the track, motorcycle inspections, classroom sessions, on-bike demonstrations, and the first laps around the course, everything is done with the race students’ comfort in mind.
This program even provides lunch and group pictures to add an element of team work and camaraderie. After the orientation is over, racers are encouraged to hang around to ask questions, watch experienced motorcycle racers, and take in a full track day’s activities. This program takes place every other Friday from 5-10PM at the Palm Beach International Raceway and other Florida locations.
