Kick It Up in Arkansas at the Bikes, Blues, & BBQ Motorcycle Rally
August 14, 2009
Reserve the dates of Sept. 23-26 for a ride to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to experience the 10th annual Bikes, Blues, & BBQ motorcycle rally.
Bikes, Blues & BBQ is a nonprofit, family-friendly motorcycle rally. Proceeds benefit local charities.
Bikes–Ride Yours, Check Out Others
Over 400,000 people came to the Bikes, Blues & BBQ rally in 2008. The 2009 rally looks to be even more popular. Some of the motorcycle-related you will not want to miss are the Parade of Power and the Battle of the Bikes.
Of course, many people come just for the ride. The Arkansas Ozarks offers scenic riding opportunities you have to see to believe.
Several manufacturers will be on hand to demo new bikes, among them Star Motorcycles, which will give you an opportunity to see the new Star 2010 VMAX.
Prizes will be raffled throughout the event. There is also a BBB Poker Run.
Did I mention the motorcycle stunt show?
Blues–Listen to Great Music
The music on two of the event’s stages–main and southern– is free to the public during the day. Among the national, regional and local music acts you’ll find here are Big’uns, Little Hoojin, Oreo Blue, Steve Pryor, the Nace Brothers, Big Bad Bubba, Full House, and Joe Giles and his Home Wrecker Band.
This year the organization has partnered with the Arkansas Music Pavilion to provide two nights of music as well:
- Blackfoot
- Molly Hatchet
- the Marshall Tucker Band
- Oreo Experience (a Jimi Hendrix tribute)
- and Steve Pryor.
Admission to the Arkansas Music Pavilion concerts is $10 per night. Gates open at 5 pm and concerts start between 7:30 and 8 pm.

BBQ–Eat Great Food
This year, the organization will be part of the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) 2009 Great American BBQ Tour. In addition to the BBQ competition, KCBS will host an Iron Chef competition and offer live cooking demonstrations.
The Southern Living BBQ on Tour will be on hand as well. The magazine will provide recipe demonstrations and sampling.
Oh yeah, there is also the Arkansas State BBQ Championship taking place.
