Massachusetts Woman Injured in Laconia Crash that Caused Small Propane Leak

A female motorcyclist was injured following a crash into an underground propane tank on Weirs Boulevard in Laconia, NH on Wednesday, July 28.

Police said the woman, Terrill Bettano, 56, of Winthrop, Massachusetts, sustained a wrist injury and was sent to the hospital.

According to the authorities, a vehicle (a dark sedan) crossed over the center line on Weirs Blvd and forced Bettano’s motorcycle off the road, which then crashed into the top of the propane tank. The crash caused a small propane leak, but it was soon brought under control by Laconia firefighters and a local gas company.

The driver’s identity is yet to be determined. He fled the scene after the crash.
