Actor James Caviezel (best known for his portrayal of Jesus in Mel Gibson’s “Passions of the Christ”) was injured in an accident on Thursday afternoon after a man threw a bicycle into the path of Caviezel’s motorcycle. The accident took place near Leavenworth, Washington.
According to a report by the Associated Press, Caviezel suffered minor injuries in the accident and was taken to Cascade Medical Center.
State troopers said that the 40-year-old actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and that “it could have been a lot worse.”
Authorities were investigating the accident but believe the 42-year-old man from Wenatchee who tossed the bicycle in Caviezel’s path may suffer from mental illness.
