Swiss Woman Killed in Becket Motorcycle Crash
July 21, 2010

An overwhelming number of motorcycle accidents occurred over the last seven days in Massachusetts, bringing sad news of deaths and injuries, which now include the loss of life of a 59-year-old Swiss woman who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Becket on Monday afternoon.

Mass Turnpike in Becket MA

According to the police, Lorenza Bernasconi-Galli from Switzerland was travelling on a 2007 Honda BTM (a 3-wheeled motorcycle) west on the Massachusetts Turnpike when she lost control over the trike. She reportedly drifted into the breakdown lane hitting the guard rail.

Speed and inertia send the motorcycle going 188 feet west before the rider was ejected. Bernasconi-Galli was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was travelling with two other bikers who were not injured.

While the crash remains under further investigation, we offer our sympathies and condolences to the family of Lorenza Bernasconi-Galli.
