Richard Reed, 29, of Mount Blanchard, was ordered to serve 24 days in jail (66 days of his sentence was “suspended” jail time) after backing into the path of motorcyclist, Vernon Wittenmeyer on August 16, 2008. Morgan Ann Depuy, 19, of Findlay, was also convicted in the death of a Findlay man that she hit and killed on April 12.
John David Cox, 22, was killed last week after a semi-truck allegedly made an unsafe lane change, causing the motorcyclist to hit a metal guardrail. James Edward Cornelious, the driver of the truck involved in the accident, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide.
Sean Sandmann, 17, died yesterday afternoon from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on a New Hampshire road. Sandmann was riding his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Reservoir Road in Weare, New Hampshire, when he crossed into oncoming traffic while rounding a corner.
Shawn Allen was injured this week in Sandown, New Hampshire, in a motorcycle crash after he ran into a truck that slowed to avoid another vehicle. Police are looking for the drivers of the truck and SUV that were involved in the accident.
