Actor James Caviezel (best known for his portrayal of Jesus in Mel Gibson’s “Passions of the Christ”) was injured in an accident on Thursday afternoon after a man threw a bicycle into the path of Caviezel’s motorcycle. The accident took place near Leavenworth, Washington.
According to a report by the Associated Press, Caviezel suffered minor injuries in the accident and was taken to Cascade Medical Center.
State troopers said that the 40-year-old actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and that “it could have been a lot worse.”
Authorities were investigating the accident but believe the 42-year-old man from Wenatchee who tossed the bicycle in Caviezel’s path may suffer from mental illness.

Aggressive driving may be to blame in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place over the weekend in Raynham, Massachusetts. Mitchell Campbell, 20, of Randolph, was killed after his motorcycle flipped when it collided with a pickup truck driven by Walter Coe, 75, of Middleboro. The accident occurred at the Interstate 495 and Route 138 overpass.
Campbell was transported to Morton Hospital and Medical Center after the accident and pronounced dead. The other driver was not injured in the incident.
Investigators believe that there may have been an altercation between Campbell, and his twin brother who was riding alongside him, and Coe prior to the crash.

Frederick Brantley, of West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, was injured in a motorcycle accident in the Cape Cod town of Sandwich. Brantley, 36, failed to make a turn and hit a tree and utility pole at 12:34a.m. on Sunday morning. The accident occurred on Water Street and is under investigation by police.
Brantley was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital via helicopter and is in good condition, according to an article in the Cape Cod Times.
