According to reports in the Cape Cod Times, the motorcycle crash took place when a Dodge Durango attempted to make a turn and crashed into the motorcyclist instead.

The injured biker was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was cited by police.

Richard Reed, 29, of Mount Blanchard, was ordered to serve 24 days in jail (66 days of his sentence was “suspended” jail time) after backing into the path of motorcyclist, Vernon Wittenmeyer on August 16, 2008. Buis was traveling southbound on a street in Findaly when Depuy attempted to turn left and collided with Buis’s motorcycle. Buis was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Similar to Reed, Depuy’s license was suspended for 731 days, and she was fined $500. Additionally, Depuy will serve 90 days in jail after being convicted of vehicular manslaughter.

According to reports, the victim, 34-year-old Bradley Bachelor, was riding his 2003 Suzuki motorcycle on Stubb Mill Road when Tedesco pulled out in front of him, causing the motorcycle to crash into the back of her 2007 Chevrolet Equinox around 10:30 a.m.

Bachelor was pronounced dead at Bethesda Arrow Springs Medical Center. Tedesco admitted to police that she was on her cell phone at the time of the motorcycle accident.

The motorcycle crash occurred near White Bagley Road when Packard’s motorcycle hit an SUV that had slowed due to traffic. Packard was then transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where he remained until he died from his injuries last Thursday.

The driver of the SUV, 35-year-old Isabelle Neves, was not injured. No charges will be filed, according to local police.

Betty Halasi, 70, and a passenger, were in the Toyota when it was struck from behind by a motorcycle driven by Stephen Maines of Niles. Maines was killed in the accident, and his passenger, a 16-year-old, suffered minor injuries. The accident took place at 9 a.m.

The force of the collision caused substantial damage to the Toyota which reportedly lost a bumper in the accident.
